Our Schedule:

6:00 – Call time: report to Normal West choir room

6:15 – Warm-up

6:40 – PERFORMANCE (Normal West auditorium)

7:10ish – Done

Performance Schedule:

6:00 – Chiddix
6:20 – West Jazz Lab
6:40 – Normal Community Jazz Ensemble
7:10 – Parkside Jazz Band
7:30 – West Jazz Kats
7:55 – Kingsley Jazz Band

8:15 – West Jazz Band I

Information:

·         I will be directing the Chiddix Jazz Band at 6:00, so you will be on your own to find the choir room and move to the warm-up room. There will be a band guide there to help you.

·         Set List:

o   Feet Bone

o   Prime Directive

o   Just the Way You Are

o   Spain

o   Moanin’

·         Dress:

o   Boys: Dark suits, dress shirts, ties, dress socks, dress shoes

o   Girls: Something dressy and classy (dresses/skirts of appropriate length or pant suits are appropriate)

o   Fedoras are okay but must be removed during our performance.  And unless your name is Sonny Rollins and you’re playing tenor under a downtown NYC bridge after midnight, sunglasses are absolutely prohibited while playing jazz.

·         Bring:

o   Instrument (reeds, valve oil, mutes, etc.)

o   Jazz folder with all music

o   Rhythm section – acoustic and electric guitars, extra cables, your own amp (if you prefer), cymbals, sticks, mallets, any auxiliary percussion needed for the set.
